Echeveria Agavoides Ebony

Fern Farm faviconDescription

  • Echeveria Ebony is a sought after agavoides hybrid with dark red outer edges.
  • The green, fleshy leaves form a tight rosette.
  • Ebony can grow to approximately 20cm in diameter, in the right conditions.
  • As with many Echeverias, Echeveria Ebony changes colours with seasons and appears less colourful in the warmer months. The last photo is of a more mature specimen with spring colour. In winter the red edge covers more of the leaf and the colour is a deep, dark red.

Fern Farm faviconPosition and Care

  • Echeveria Ebony prefers partly shaded position or filtered light, especially in the summer months. In late autumn/winter/early spring, it will happily grow in full sun.
  • This plant might burn during summer heatwaves and will benefit from being placed in afternoon shade or under shadecloth.
  • Plants established in the ground are very hardy and only need to be watered in extended periods of dry weather.
  • Pot plants need to be watered more often although ensure the soil is dry before watering again.
