Calathea Musaica
Description
- Calathea Musaica, also known as Goeppertia kegeljanii, is a beautiful shade-loving plant with interesting leaf pattern.
- The leaves are dark green with chequered lines, creating many tiny squares and rectangles. Some rectangles are a different shades of green, further adding to the appeal of this plant
- Calathea musaica has a clumping habit. New sets of leaves grow from the base of the main stem. Leaves start out rolled into a cigar and unfold slowly.
- White flowers will grow on mature plants in summer.
Position & Care
- Calathea Musaica is a fantastic indoor/ patio plant.
- It will also grow in a shaded part of the garden in tropical climates.
- It likes a bright but shaded spot and can burn if exposed to direct sun for too long.
- Calathea Musaica does not like cold and should be brought indoors in winter. It is also frost tender.
- For a nice, large plant, re-pot into a bigger pot every year and feed with a slow-release fertilizer throughout the growing season.
- Calathea Musaica should be watered regularly and potting mix should not be left to dry out completely.

- Can be placed outdoors in a shaded spot.
Your Plant
- Plants are sent semi-bare rooted (no pot, but we will keep some potting mix/coco coir/ sphagnum moss on the roots to prevent it from drying out).
- The root system will be sufficiently developed.
- The plant is displayed in a 10 cm pot.
- The plant will be same/similar to the plant in the photo.
- Plants are sent on Mondays and Tuesdays, so they arrive before the weekend.
- Due to restrictions, we cannot post plants to WA, NT or TAS.
